We will start a new book: Fields of Blood: Religion and the History of Violence (2015) by Karen Armstrong. A new paperback of the book is around $17 and an ebook is $14. For the 2nd we will read Part I.
Armstrong has won numerous awards for her books and is regarded as one of today's best authors on religion. This book examines the traditions of the major world religions and how they may or may not have contributed to the many occurrences of warfare and other violence that has erupted over the millennia. It is not a spoiler to say that she comes down on the side of religion. So in order to keep things balanced, we are looking for people who come down on the side of violence. But even if you don't favor violence, we would love to have you attend.
