Philosophy Study Group

For this meeting we are going to start a discussion of the book, Notes on Complexity: A Scientific Theory of Connection, Consciousness, and Being (2023), by Neil Thiese. This book is available in paperback for about $20 and as an e-book for about $10. Interestingly, Amazon is selling the hardcopy version for only $19. We should note here that there’s a fine line between complexity and confusion. However, this book has been praised by the Washington Post as being “lucid and accessible.” A lucid explanation of complexity? Okay, but it sounds like an oxymoron. For our first meeting, we will read the first six chapters.
