The Company: The Rise and Fall of the Hudson’s Bay Empire (Stephen R. Bown). We are taking a different route this next book – we are heading up to Canada! The story of the Hudson’s Bay Company, dramatic, adventurous and complex, is the story of modern Canada’s creation. (So says Stephen Bown’s website – so it must be true.). We are reading the first 8 chapters, through page 210.
