We will continue discussing The Heirs of Muhammad: Islam’s First Century and the Origins of the Sunni-Shia Split (Barnaby Rogerson), our current stop being the Prophet Muhammad, and what happened after his death.

This book looks at the Sunni and Shia schism in relation to actions of the Prophet’s cousin and son-in-law Ali and his wife Aisha.

We are finishing the book. If you missed the first session, don’t fret. It is quite an easy read and you have until next year! If you don’t get to the end, I guarantee you will still have something to talk about. Find your copy, enjoy your New Year’s, and join us for some new discussion.
